It's an online collection of shops like eBay, only all you can sell is your homemade goods, or crafting supplies. I think it's really cute.

I have an Etsy shop but I don't use it. I listed some doll clothes and hair clips I made forever ago and all I sold was a hairclip. I'm working on making some jewelry lately, so I'll probably list it there when I'm done with it.

I heard about that site. It sounds interesting, though I've never been good with crafts so it wasn't really for me. However I do have some friends that are into beading, pottery, etc. that may find a use for it. The only thing that it may be good for me would be if you could set up a shop for books (perhaps e-books)... Do you know if that's possible? I used to like writing fiction and I think it'd be a nice way to break into the field without having to go through all of the costs trying to publish hardcopy.

I have any Etsy shop where I sell wire wrapped jewelry.  I don't work it as well as I should, though.  I get too busy with other things and it takes a lot of work doing the photos descriptions to put on the site.  It's a great place to buy handcrafted gifts for you family and loved ones (yourself, also)!

Yes, I have an Etsy shop for my online business called Lillie's crochet shop. I have been on there since Dec and have sold anything yet. I have 3 products on there. Heart pillows, stocking, and a bag shaped like candy corn. Hoping to get some sales lol. I am using my profits to pay off my student loans. Once I am out of defferment Ill have to get a job.

What is Etsy? Do you have to pay dues or any fees? Is it a site that gives you viruses on your computer? Is it easy to use?

i agree with you. i'm afraid that my ideas are gonna be
ripped off by someone else  :confused1: while at the same time,
i feel that some of the things i make are too close to someone
else's, and i don't want to be that person either.
i suppose i shouldn't worry about it too much though.

i like etsy, but i have a feeling its eventually gonna turn into
a corporate manifestation like ebay practically has...

What an interesting idea! I used to do some crafting, but it was a big hassle to haul my stuff to sales.

tried using etsy - more trouble than it's worth like ebay - tested them all - now only go with what works for my customers and me - it has to be simple - easy and fun - otherwise why bother
