Surprise!

So...does anybody have any interesting surprise party (birthday or non-birthday) stories?
I remember surprising my friend once for her 18th birthday, and then, a couple years later, surprising her at a friends house when she was leaving town..she had vowed "never to be surprised again," yet we had pulled it off...and then, there's the two times my parents came down to visit me on my birthday (6 hours away).... of course, these are just simple stories, I'm sure there's other funny/embarrassing/entertaining ones out there...

In the third grade my class had a surprise party for me.  It wasn't really a surprise because one of my classmates let the cat out of the bag.  The plan was to send me down to the office for an errand while the class got ready.   So on the way to the office my classmate was walking with me and said something like yeah we're having a party but it's not for you.    so from that I knew they were going to give me a party but I had to act surprised when I walked in the room.  



I just remembered another surprise.  Me and my cousins surprised my mother on her birthday years ago when my cousin surprised her by coming.  My mother didn't know my other cousin was going to be in town.  She was so surprised and happy to see her niece (one of her favorites) that she started crying.  My cousins' mother was my mother's twin sister whom she was extremely close to so my mother is like their second mother.  My aunt died years ago and for a long time my mother was very upset especially around her birthday.

Years ago my Sister and I planned a surprise 60th B-Day Party for our Mom. Took months to plan it, had over 50 people. I was the one who had to get Mom there...on the way she was in a bad mood, didn't want to go have
' Brunch ',  didn't like what I was wearing...on & on, I snapped on her ( sorry, Mom ) and by the time we walked in she was calling me nasty names and screaming how much she hated the place...no one said a word not even "Surprise" they all just stood there staring at her. I felt so bad for her. After a minute or so, someone said,
"Surprise" and she left the room. It was a nightmare and a total waste of almost $1,000.00...back then that was a big deal for a party. We still have the pic of when she walked in, the mad look on her face is priceless.
