Has anyone been hit with unemployment?  I am anxious for the job market to pick back up.

I have been unemployed since October 2008.  And I'm waiting and hoping for a call back right now.  Good luck to you and just keep applying and doing follow up calls, thats what I did.

yeah. in october 2008 i was "laid off" of my job due to my pregnancy. now i'm just at home being a stay at home mom. it really sucked though because it was a month after a hurricane had hit our area :crybaby2:
it wa very inconvenient for them to do that.

My husband was fired December 17th 2008. A week before Christmas because someone took offense to the phrase "sorry guys but we ain't got no bananas." It is horrible how anyone can turn anything offensive and get someone fired over a stupid phrase from a song!

I'm unemployed right now, but have been working my butt off getting interviews and such. I'm also trying to get some additional training so I'll have more job opportunities available to me. Luckily I am very frugal and a compulsive saver so even if I don't find work for half a year I can live comfortably.

I was also "laid off" in November 2008. Actually my old boss was my mom and they fired her and sent in a new guy and he started firing the people closest to her. He gave me this letter saying that I was being "laid off" because not much work was coming in. Yet he kept hiring people. Anywho that douche tried to say I wasn't showing up to the Unemployment Benefits people. Still received it though, so now i stay home and get paid as much as I would if I was still working. I hate staying home but what a way to punish me right? Stay home you, but still get paid! I think they were just using the whole down economy as a way to get rid of me because they I always did everything the right way and they could never get me.

Sorry just wanted to rant. XD
