Do you read food packaging closely before you buy? Most of the time, I do.

Yes I do I started doing this since I became aware of how much sugar and other unhealthy stuff is in processed foods like ham U know how much sodium has wow 340mg and that is a brand that is low on calories by comparison. It was amazing to find that one cup of noodles the Instant lunch type has 1,190mg of sodium. Also because I am trying to get down to a healthy weight.

I usually eat pretty well.  I watch sugars/fats and calories.  One of the things that it hard to cut down on is the sodium.  Many foods are loaded with sodium.  You do need a bit of salt to help bring out the flavor in foods.  The problem is that so many food manufacturers use extra salt instead of adding flavor because salt is less expensive to add instead of spices/seasonings and actual flavor.  There is a mandate for food manufacturers to reduce sodium in foods over time.  Some processed foods are way too salty.  There is no reason for them to be that salty.  In time people can get used to less salt, as much of our desire for salt is what we are used to tasting.

Yup I went and got ritz crackers and they now come with a lot less salt on them. I was getting ridiculous how much salt was on them.

Oh yeah, I read all the labels of products before I buy them. For the most part I don't buy any foods that have ingredients/additives that I can't pronounce. I normally try to cook from scratch so I get to control the amount of salt and fat in my family's meals.

Oh yes i do that too lol.. did you know that 2 of those cookies with the cream inside not oreos but the lemon or vanilla cream type cookies it's 2 cookies per serving and it has 140 calories in them I was like omg!! I remember I used to eat like 10 with a big cup of milk in one sitting and more through out the day. No wonder I am over weight. But now I read the labels and that helps me make a better choice.

I always do.  I do not buy a product without reading the label.  And many times, I had planned to buy a product until I read the label.  And after reading the label, put the product back.  You can find good tasting foods that are healthy and good for you.  You do not need to eat food that is bad for you.  However in saying that, I am not perfect and I do love sweets and snack foods especially potato chips.  But I try to eat very healthy.  And I try to eat organically.

i rarely read labels. i know, i know, that's terrible, but i don't buy to many packaged foods, and most of the ones i do are things that are meant to be unhealthy, like cookies and poptarts. now one thing i do notice is if there are two similar products (like quaker chewy granola bars) but one has less sugar or added protein i make the effort to buy the healthier one. but that's about all i look for.

I read food packaging more now than I did 2 years ago.  I became lactose intolerant so I check every single food label.  It is surprising how much stuff contains milk.  The one thing I was surprised at is sliced bread.  I also watch out for high fructose corn syrup.  Alot of foods use this instead of real sugar because it is cheeper.  Did you notice the Pepsi commercial that says "for a limited time made with real sugar" because they use high frucose corn syrup in soda now.
