I feel you definetly you should not drive with a cell phone.  You got your mind preoccupied for one thing and you cant really hear what is going on around you It is dangerous for you and others.  I let my voicemail pick it up and talk when it is safer.  Then I can give my full attention on what is being said on the phone.

i think as long as you can concentrate on whats going on around you then go ahead. But I dont use the cell phone much to talk i just text and I can text without looking at my phone while driving so i do it all the time. Now if you cant do it and drive then you should lay your phone down but some people are just better at doing it then others.i have never wrecked due to talking on the phone while driving or texting

I think that talking on a cell phone while driving is stupid and irrisponsible. You're supposed to keep all of your attention on the road at all times. Cars are very dangerous and a split second could change your life forever.

I think that it is terribly dangerous and should not be allowed.  Any conversation can wait until you are parked.  That includes emergencies.  If you feel that a call is important, pull over to a safe place and make or take the call.  A lot of bad accidents are caused because someone was talking on their cell phone.

It should be illegal and strickly enforced not
to use cell phones when driving but however
"some" people don't care if they cause a
accident.

I don't think that you should use a cell phone when driving. I have come close to being run into a few times and when I look at the driver they are always on a cell phone. It is very irritating. I'm glad that I live in a state that made it against the law to use your cell phone while driving as of 1-1-10.

I find it very insulting that there are others on the road that don't care enough to put there phone down or let VM pick up while you're driving.  My life is important to others and I don't think its up to anyone to disrespect me and neglect your responsibility to pay attention to the road.  I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD YOU ARE AT TALKING OR TEXTING DON'T DO IT.  What is going to be your excuse when you get into an accident.  How stupid will you sound when you answer "oopps Sorry officer I was on the phone because my friend wants to know what time I will be there to pick her up. Oh and tell the family that I killed that I'm sorry"  Sorry doesn't do squat at that point.  Don't put others at risk.   >:(

I don't think talking on the phone is so bad, as long as you have a headset or some sort of hands free system. But these people who try to text while driving are IDIOTS.
I was a truck driver for 15 years and I have seen a lot of people doing some really stupid crap on the highways. Driving and texting is way up there on my top 10 list of stupid
things people do on the highway.

There is nothing more annoying then having to go out of your way to make sure someone doesn't run into you because you see them texting and not even looking up at the road.  I almost got hit like 5 times trying to switch lanes then realize the other person is looking down reading a text mssg.

I think talking on your cell phone while driving is okay as long as you keep it brief but there is no way you should be texting. Paying attention to the road is way more important than whatever text you're reading.

80% of the time, it won't make a difference. But 20% of the time, allowing yourself to be distracted -- whether by talking on the phone, yelling at the kids in the back seat, changing the radio -- whatever takes your eyes off the road, is just an accident in the making.

And even if you're not distracted, the guy in the other vechicle might be so be ready! :peace:

I don't usually use the cell phone while driving.  I like to stop to make a phone call.  If someone calls and I can't get the phone I will call them back when I get to stop.  Texting while driving is just crazy.  I can't believe people do that.

It's just not smart. If you can at all avoid picking up the phone, you definitely should. It's illegal here if you're under 18.

With all the blutooth devices out no one should need to pick up a phone while driving any more. I have my phone connected to my car but not to the truck. In the truck I will use it but only dial when I'm stopped and keep it very breif.
