Can you tell me why my cat loves to play all night and then sleeps all day?

maybe it has something to do with the prey that they have...like mice and stuff. I believe the mice and such are nocturnal.

How old is the cat?

They're nocturnal animals.  Maybe once the cat gets lazier it'll sleep most of the night.  That's what mine do.

I think most cats are just that way.  Maybe try staying up with it, playing and chasing it around to change it's schedule??
(I know it works for kids! When your little ones that have their days and nights mixed up!)

Neither of mine do.  The oldest one is on the same schedule I'm on (it goes to sleep and wakes up when I do).  The younger one is outside all day and comes in at night and sleeps.

cats slle like 16 hours and they are nocternal so thats why they are up at night.  my cats sleep all day long and play for like 4 hours at night but I always find them asleep on the bed when i get up in the morning

That is so funny...thats exactly what me and my husband have been wondering for three years lol...my cat plays while my husband, dog, and I are sleeping and when we are all awake she is in her little bed with her paws blocking her eyes (sunlight lol)
