Religious threads...
« on: December 26, 2009, 12:05:19 am »
We have 5 of them on the first page last time I checked. Now 6 due to mine. I would highly suggest either keeping it to one thread or have all of you crazy religious extremists stop posting things that don't exist in the realm of reality.

If an admin would like to delete this thread, please do so if you see fit.

Do you know how stupid you sound? How childish and ignornant?

Look at all the freakin Christmas Topics or all the other topics. You have some issues with people posting what they want and need to get a damn life.

Honestly, it would be much more effective to have a single "Official Thread" rather than 4 different threads discussing the same topic.  Most forums work this way.

Strange those ones will disappear soon unlike another topic brand.

The "megathread" or official thread concept doesn't really pan out on these forums.  Most forums have a significant number of veteran members who can enforce something like that.  FusionCash's forum members tend to stick around for a short while and then move on.  The "cultural memory" of these forums is very short, and topics get brought up repeatedly.  This happens because each time a topic surfaces, there is a significantly different set of people commenting on it (setting aside the handful that post in every provocative thread).

The simple solution is to just ignore those threads which seem repetitive or uninteresting.  It's really easy to just avoid clicking on them.  That's what I'd suggest if they are bothering you :)

Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to ignore them as the popular threads themselves are always fun to respond to. I just noticed the same person will keep posting "Proof that god exists 1" "Proof that god exists 2", 3, etc. which seems scattered when everyone's still responding to the original. But your statement makes sense as I see they've been cast down the thread list. Cool.

Not at all, Just being like you and calling you what you call me.

Anything I say to you usually has a massive basis to it. You are just name calling.

I agree, the people starting these threads want a debate and that's exactly what they're getting when people fight with them.  Remember people, negative attention is still attention.

Fair point.  It would still probably be worth a try (if it hasn't been tried already).  Make it a sticky so it stays at the top of the first page.  It may not be 100% effective, but I think it would be more effective than the current method.
