I got promoted

Well, I just noticed that I have been promoted.  I am no longer a newbie but now a Jr. Member. That was a surprise and it feels good.

It's all about activity. I don't really post a whole lot on the forums, but I'm getting into the habit of 30/mo. I didn't realize how difficult it was!

I'm just about to my first 25$ payment, so I can't wait. I've trusted fusioncash thus far, but this will only seal the deal. I wish that less people thought FC was a pyramid scheme

i haven't noticed any additional "perks" from promotions -- just indicates how active you are on the forums.

Exactly.  It's only related to how many posts you have, and you don't get any special benefits from any particular rank.

It causes so much confusion and consternation I think I'll just remove them altogether with the next forum update.

Really?  Having ranks displayed, based on post count, is the default behavior in virtually every major forum software: phpBB, Simple Machines, Invision, vBulletin...

Most of the forums I'm on have removed the ranks and post counts. There have been a few that feel "God" like when they have high ranks and post counts. I don't see why anyone but the poster would need to see a post count on a site like this and the rank is just silly.
