Lol I presume only a certain generation will ever understand that.

But on a serious note, the problem with freindship is that people have different ideas of what it means. Today's generation thinks sending someone a comment on facebook equates to being a friend (ROFL).

I myself consider about 3 or 4 people my actual friend, everyone else is just an acquaintance. If you are not someone who I would count on to help me in my time of need, & on the flipside, if I don't think I'd want to help you when you need it, then the friendship doesn't exist.

I think values go down unless one leads a spiritual life.

They should but really it is hard to find a true friend these days that will not betray you in some kind  of way

a close friend of mine is about to embark on a new journey and leaving the geographical area where we live - I will miss her tremendously but i know she is a good friend and I know that we will stay in contact, etc.   I also hope we can visit each other ocassionally --

Friendship is special, true friendships are rare but if you got them -- hang onto them.

I think the answer is pretty much easy ask yourself do you care and if you really care then there is pepole like you who really cares for friendship so the answer is yes but is it easy to find ? will you have the chance to get one of them who knows :)

Well, yes, people out there do care about their friends and the people close to them. But everyone is different. I personally consider my friends so close that they're basically my family so of course I love them to death and treat them with a lot of respect. On the other hand, some of the people I consider best friends don't exactly show me the same treatment at times but that doesn't mean they don't consider me a close friend..everyone just does things differently. I hope I can make more friends that put as much emphasis on friendship as I do in the future.

Well their are different levels of friends....If that makes any since.  Most of the people I know would be considered more as "acquaintance".  Very few are truly "friends".
