Just graduated in August.  Graduated 1 year early and have been working and relaxing since.  I plan to go to college in August of next year.  Until, then I plan to work until I save enough money for my trip to London.

I did graduated in my own country but if i wanna go to college i need to get GED here ym high school diploma is not accredited

I didn't finish high school but you really don't need the flimsy paper to tell yourself that you can be something.  Granted the flimsy piece of paper can make getting into colleges easier it's not needed.  Start as a laborer like me I'm a driver helper for UPS    and with the opportunities of the net is only a matter of time before people find sites like this one, organizes them and then make money doing hardly any work.  Do you need a diploma for this work hmm let me think umm..... NO you can start as early as 13 on some of these websites!!!!!!!!

I finished high school.. Didn't go to college right away.. got a job that required a high school diploma at a factory.. starting pay $10.25 to sit on my butt and do nothing for 10hrs a day.. bought a house.. bought a car.. Now at 21 im going back to college to get a better job an more moolah.. Now by the time im 24 years old i will have my house and car paid off and have a batchlors degree

 Ya can survive without a high school diploma and ya can always go get a GED wich is basically the same thing but getting it is way easier.. It's just that some jobs ya can't get.. woohoo because theres sites like this on the net now. I actually started doing surveys on the net when I was 13 it was hard to qualify for a lot of surveys but some of them worked out for me.. it was something to do lol. As long as ya have a game plan your set to go! HS diploma or not you will succeed!

HS diploma...College diploma...doesn't matter.

They recently did a study that basically said that college degrees were overrated because of the debt the students were in and how they couldn't find jobs because of the economy.  It's basically a matter of you finding a job.  Has nothing to do with the paper.

My husband did not finish high school, did not get his GED, now has a high paying job in a high section of his restaurant.
He is making the money of most accountants, lawyers, etc. people who have these college degrees but are still paying off student loans.
He's paying off his bills and saving for his kids.  He doesn't have to worry about all these stupid student loans that are getting these graduates no farther than he is.

A lot of the times, people he went to high school with who went to college and got their four year degree, are just now being able to pay off their *bleep* and are horrified that he is so much farther ahead than they are.

Obviously, he is the exception to the rule but I think a college degree, high school diploma...both overrated nowadays.

I had to make up courses from previous years on my senior year so I had to transfer to a continuation school.. I busted my butt and made everything up and graduated on time with A's and B's =-)

   Ayulyn...I agree with you homeschooling is the best! You cannot learn everything from a classroom or textbooks...that is what homeschooling is all about: Personal research, field trips...see the real world, meet real people and form a personal opinion about certain topics!

I graduated from high school, went to college but never got my degree.  Hate that I didn't.  Maybe one of these days I will financially be able to get it.

Too bad for some a college degree doesn't guarantee you will find a job.  I have a lot of friends with degrees and can't find jobs.

I graduated ... I think ... LOL LOL  ... has been so long ago, I can't remember. Just kidding. Back then, and from my area, it was an accomplishment to graduate. In today's world and job market, it doesn't mean thta much. I have a year of college credits towards an Associate degree ... I'm gonna finish so  that my son can see that it is important to achieve what you set out to do ... as well as to follow your dreams.

Please tell our childran how important an education is and for them to not only have a job but a career that they enjoy doing.
