A dishwasher is probably one appliance I could live without and not think twice. I prefer to do dishes by hand; call me crazy but I find it relaxing!

hahaha oddly enough I find myself tending to whistle a little tune while doing the dishes by hand  ;D

Yes, doing dishes by hand can be relaxing and there is a reason for that. In the act of doing the dishes, you unknowingly activate certain pressure points on your hands that induce endorphines in your brain...that is if you're not fighting the feeling as in 'don't want to do it just now.'

We don't have a dishwasher so we have to do  them by hand.

I'd be fine without one. Always had one but never used it.

I guess I would eat last . I guess I would have to wash by hands!!
I do just fine without a dishwasher, I hand wash all my dishes and never owned a dishwasher. I often wonder does a dishwasher make your life better, would it make my life easier? I hope one day to own a dishwasher, but until then I am the offical dishwasher of my household, lol.  :)

i would have the nastiest hands ,, my hands get so dried out from the dish soap,,
Me too I break out from some of the ones that have lemon or orange or grapefruit in them. Plus if i didnt have my dish washer I wouldnt be able to cook/bake and wash the dishes at the same time. When i get on my baking sprees the dish washer is going like all day long.

All while growing up I never had a dishwasher, and now as an adult I still have never had one.  Washing dishes by hand really isn't all that bad... unless you have a bunch of people over for a dinner, and then you wish you had one.  The fact is, I have seen my in-laws soaking, scrubbing pans, pots, plates, forks and what not with gooey or baked on food before they put them in the machine to ensure the food will come off.  And even then, I've been there and they had to run some items through again!  If you have to go through that anyway, why not just use a little soap and wash them by hand?  Seems pointless to me.  :dontknow:

I do concur what a few others said in that dishwashing by hand can really dry the hands out, especially in the winter.  I guess that's why they make moisturizing lotion.
