What happened to my free toaster?

Remember when banks used to give you free stuff to open an account?  I'm checking out new banks to open a new account and the last time I opened an account (last March) I didn't get jack.  I remember years ago opening up accounts before and getting things like duffel bags, tool sets, storage containers, etc.  I just like getting free stuff.  Do you remember the coolest thing you got for opening a bank account?

There is a bank in NC not far from me that gives you items to come in and open an account. It is pretty cool sometimes. I like free stuff to lol

my  bank has one of them coin counter machines that give you a prize if you guess within a dollar of the total amount. having counted it before, I easily defeated this machine in a game of wits, and what did I win? a bookmark and something that resembled one movie ticket that wasn't actually a movie ticket.

Actually, I just opened an account with Chase this morning and if I leave it open/active for 6 months I get $100.00
Also I have an account at Bank of America that gives me $50 every time a friend or family member opens an account with them.
Kinda nice!  I think they even give them $25 for mentioning my name!!  Anyone want to?  Tell them Nicole Acosta sent you 
(I'd even send you some to your Paypal or Alertpay account - I am all about helping others out!  As long as they still do this, that is...)

The only think my bank gave me was the first box of checks free.  But they were the really nice ones I liked, not the generic ones.  I also get free checking, which is nice.  I know every bank does that now, but it is still nice.

My grandpa used to open accounts to get stuff and he got me a microwave to take to college one time. That was in the 80's when you got good stuff.

ING Orange accounts will give you $25 to open an account, not sure how long you have to leave it in to get it though. You bank with them online and when you want the money back, they'll transfer it into your main bank account. Something is better than nothing these days.

Bank of America was offering $100 but the offer is over now. I was already with them so I did a $25 offer they had for using bill pay.  I used the money to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese !
