HOMETOWN
« on: June 06, 2010, 01:59:15 pm »
HI, I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE MOVED AWAY FROM WHERE THEY GREW UP? I LIVED UP NORTH AND NOW I HAVE LIVED DOWN SOUTH FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS. TALK ABOUT CULTURE SHOCK!! IF ITS NOT FRIED ITS NOT TRIED. BUT I MUST SAY I LIKE THE FRIED TURKEY. BUT THE PEOPLE ARE NOT FRIENDLIER IN THE SOUTH AS WE HAVE BEEN TOLD.

I grew up here in the South (Mississippi) and I still live here.  I love it and hate it at the sametime.  It depends on what part of the south that your in for a warm welcome.  Have snobbie sections and the I don't care sections and the good ole town/city sections.  One day I will be leaving the south.

 I'm not too far from where I grew up. I'm in S.E. TX and grew up near Houston. Its only about 100 miles away. I like this area better but hoping to move near Dallas some day where my son and grandsons are.

:cat: I lived in Jacksonville my whole life (married, with grown children) until last year - we moved to GA to the country.  Definitely a culture change from being a city girl!  The people here are extremely friendly and helpful, though!!!

Never really had the chance to move to another city or state. Have been in the same one for 33+ years.

I've lived in several different states and a foreign country and for now I am back in my hometown but I don't plan to stay here.  I don't know where I will end up but I know it will be some place warm all year not like my hometown.

I don't know about other places in the South..but we are pretty friendly here in Tennessee. I only live about 50 miles from hometown, have stayed around East TN my whole life.

Born and raised in Ogden, UT. I've been thinking about moving for about a year though.
