Olive oil and the fight against excess weight

Recently I learned that olive oil is often recommended to be included in the diet of those who want to lose weight or maintain health. I wondered how to use this oil correctly to get the maximum benefit. It supposedly helps speed up metabolism and reduce hunger. Who has tried it?
