Rebuilding credit with credit cards
« on: July 15, 2023, 08:58:00 am »
I'd like to rebuild my credit history and improve my credit score. Can anyone recommend credit card options and share strategies for effectively rebuilding credit?

Hi there. I successfully rebuilt my credit history with the Milestone Mastercard. It has allowed me to establish a positive payment history. This card has proven to be an effective way to demonstrate responsible credit usage and establish a positive credit history. I would like to note that the Milestone Mastercard has higher interest rates and fees than other credit cards. But given its focus on helping people with low credit scores, this is acceptable since there are no other options.

If I had that problem, I would first contact Equifax or Transunion or Experian and see if they can help you free.

Hi, I don't prefer credit cards to rebuild credit because if you lose your job and use it and then you stay unemployed for too long, it can hurt you. If you use it before job loss, it hurts becuase they come after you. Happened to me in 2011 and it was a deathtrap. Best thing is to obtain the card but dont use it for a long long time. Stick to paying eveything in cash.

You are right. Contacting Equifax or Transunion is a great way to solve this problem.

That is definitely the wrong way to rebuild your credit history.  With a high interest rate just makes it worst because  you aren't paying off the principal, you are only paying the interest they are charging you unless you are able to pay more than the minimum cost.  Good luck.
