I guess I'm somewhere between hard rock and metal for me.  My wife is more of a metal-head than I.  But I'll listen to Country, Classic Rock and Cher for a good laugh.  I dislike most everything else with the exception of hip hop and rap which makes me want to puke my brains into a emo kids hair at the mall.
