People Magazine goes Digital

Are there any others changing to a digital format?

Got an email that told me no more paper issues of my subscription will be delivered to my home.  Now only a digital email link will be received.  No more hanging in the grocery store either it looks like:

"People may scrap its weekly print edition as its new owner looks to slash costs — even as writers privately gripe that the magazine’s new editor looks to be an awkward fit for the celebrity-gossip icon, The Post has learned"

https://nypost.com/2022/05/16/peoples-print-magazine-faces-closure-sources/

People — a 48-year-old fixture in grocery checkout lines, beauty salons and doctor’s offices known for its “Sexiest Man Alive” cover — are bracing for the magazine to go online-only after Dotdash Meredith, a unit of billionaire Barry Diller’s IAC, shuttered a slew of print publications, sources close to the situation said.

Those include Entertainment Weekly and the fashion glossy InStyle, which once oozed profit and was thick with advertising pages. People, meanwhile, faces getting the ax despite claiming the largest audience of any US magazine for nearly a decade until 2018, when it surrendered the title to AARP.

Personally I like to read the paper magazines and not a digital copy.  I enjoy taking my time and reading the magazines.

I don't know, but I think they will lose a lot of subscribers.  My Mother likes to read/browse through People.  But she cannot get on a computer.  I am sure she is not the only one.  Some people as mentioned above like to look at hard copies and in some areas some people do not have enough internet access.

They are finally realizing that not a lot of people are reading paper magazines anymore.

I would rather read the paper version too. It is easier to understand.

I haven't read any magazines in years, so not really an issue for me either way.   ;)
