It was a strange and different funeral, one I never attended before.  On a funny note, and meaning no disrespect to her, on our way home my husband turned, looked at me and said ‘for this you made me wear a suit’ 😄

Sometimes a little light-hearted humor can go a long way with sadness.

Oh Nancy i am so sorry for your loss and the loss of her other family and friends.  I have lost so many people so I totally understand how you must feel.  Prayers for peace and comfort for you and all who loved her.

They often have a condolence/guest book at funeral homes and funerals for those paying respects to sign and the family is then able to keep that afterward as a remembrance of those who felt the need to offer condolences. I would expect that is not possible to do at a drive by, which is a sad reality. That can be a therapeutic item for the family to reflect on years later when it is difficult to remember everyone who was there to offer comfort at the time. But I suppose something (a drive by) is better than nothing (solitary loneliness).

Most funeral homes have an online guest book. Could check in to that.

lol.  I guess it just depends on where you live but in my area a lot of men wear jeans to a funeral unless it is immediate family and some of them do.  I have even seen a lot of women wear jeans. I have done that as well if I am just stopping by receiving friends and not someone close to me.

Local man dies who coach pop warner football - there were over 300 cars in the drive by. Very sad but hopefully his children saw the support from the community.

In my area the funeral homes allow up to 50 people and they have church services again with social distance rules.

Nancy, I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend.  Death is most certainly a sting that leaves a big hole in the heart.

Keep the good memories close by. Condolences to you, the family and all the friends.
