Baby Ducks
« on: May 21, 2020, 09:59:16 am »
We have a pond in our community.  To appease our HOA I had my "lawn guy" redo my big flower & shrub bed to remove weeds and put down a new stone border.  While working on this he discovered a mama duck and what looked like 20-30 eggs back up into the hedge.  Someone put a picture up on the community website of what I think was this mama duck and a whole slew of baby ducks some are yellow and some are black like her heading to the pond.  So very adorable.

I agree, they are so adorable to watch as they walk about. I love to city around the lake in our area  and that is one of the joys I get to just sit there relaxing and watching.

Wow, that's a lot of ducklings! They will be fun to watch, though.  :)

Oh, that's wonderful! i get kind of excited when I see ducks walking in a row in our neighborhood or elsewhere. I am astonished that they are so comfortable being around us people, LOL! I used to occasionally go and feed the ducks at the park when my kids were small. It was so much fun!  :peace:

That's cute.  I saw a video a few weeks ago of a mom and her ducklings walking and the duckling fell on a sewage hole or something.  A guy went to help and took the ducklings out, but the Mama Duck was there the whole way, she knew how many ducklings she had and did not leave until every single one of them had been rescued. She even paced back and forth, nervously waiting It was so, so cute and endearing

They will be fun to watch grow up.  I watched some Canadian Geese and babies this morning at a nearby pond.

They are always fun to watch when they are young and not in the street.  Someone may soon have to put up a sign saying duck crossing.

Aw! We have a little duck family we see sometimes along the stream near my house if we go for a walk early in the morning. They're too adorable. 20-30 eggs is a lot! Maybe it was multiple nests?

Ducklings are adorable.  We had a family of turkeys in our back yard.  Baby turkeys are cute up to a certain age...and clumsy.
