What to do with Peonies
« on: May 29, 2020, 03:16:44 pm »
My plants are finally blooming.  Sure seem to be taking there time.  Last year I made peony jelly.  It tastes like strawberries.  So I thought: If you can make jelly from peony then why not wine?  So I found a good recipe.  Just to get a few things and I will make wine.  Let you know if I like it.

I've never tasted a peony and honestly didn't know they're edible. If they taste like strawberries they must be delicious! I'm curious what you eat the jelly with. Good luck with your wine!  :rose:

I just put my garden in - since I am stuck at home I am thinking this might be the year that something actually grows. So far so good.

Interesting. I didn't know you could eat peonies, much less make wine from them. I love wine! Let us know how it turns out.

Me either.  I have some planted in my back yard. I do not see me eating them though.

Peony Jelly?  Peony Wine?  I had no idea.  The fragrance of the peony is high on my list of favorites and I have many varieties around my home.  I may have to investigate this further.
