Ever Watched Extreme Cheapskates?
« on: April 04, 2020, 07:37:34 am »
I watched one or two episodes of this show several years ago but none since.  However, since in the house with this virus, I am trying out new shows I either haven't watched or watched very little a while ago! Some of the people on this show are really extreme and I have to wonder how they live in some of the ways they do no matter how frugal!

So my question is: What, if any, do you do to pinch a penny?  How much do you estimate you save by doing what you do?

I've watched that show before.  Some of the things they do are pretty bizarre.  I find that most of the "penny-pinching" ideas end up costing more in the long run than if you just went out and bought the product.  So I don't do any of them.
Just watch my consumption and don't overuse and ask yourself if you really need something or do you just want it.

I've watched a few episodes but I just couldn't  handle watching  the outrageous ways they come up with to save money! If it works for them great but I don't have to witness it! Lol

I am one that pinches pennies. But I've seen the show you're referring to and I don't hold a candle to these people! I remember one where the mother of the house would only allow the light to be on in one room at a time, even moving the light bulb from room to room to guarantee that not more than one light was on. Also, I remember the guy that took his wife to the dollar movie, found a refillable soft drink cup and a refillable popcorn tub in the garbage, took them up to the concession area to get refilled for free, got a fresh straw, and presented the food to his wife who was waiting in her theater seat. She was so thrilled that he had gotten this expensive food for her and didn't know the containers came from the garbage can, LOL!  :peace:

I actually seen that show for the first time a few weeks ago. I never heard of it but looked up online to see when the show was released. I found out it was on years ago and only lasted a couple of years. it was kind of a funny but strange show

Yes, I've seen that.  It was pretty interesting.  There was a lady on there, who is a millionaire and showed all the cheapskate stuff she does.

I think one or two times way back LOL I remember an episode where this guy collected catsup packets so he didn't have to buy catsup (ketchup).  I am going to see if I can find it on Netflix or Amazon prime video.  Thanks for the post.

I liked the lady that did not use toilet paper and got dumpster food for her friends. LOL
