During the introduction to contestants, where people give a quick biography, Contestant Blair Davis unexpectedly stated " I've been trapped in a loveless marriage for the last 12 years to an old battle-axe named Kim. She cursed my life with three stepchildren named Star, RJ and Ryan, and I have one rotten grandson". Totally caught Pat Sajak off guard (1st time in thirty years) and Blair explained how tired of the canned repsonses that came from people about their "beautiful" spouse and decades of marriage. Blair's wife told him that she did not want him to call her the "beautiful" wife. No misconceptions about who they are or what they look like, Blair decided to have some fun (his wife and grandson were in the audience). Calling his wife an old battle axe has been part of their dynamic, allowing them to enjoy fifteen years of marriage together.

I've been waiting years for someone to do this. This was great.

Well lets face it,the marriage arrangment is a joke in this world anyway. Not sure how someone stays together for 15 yrs if UR that miserable.Or maybe they have the convenience sharing paying the bills together and they really arent that miserable even tho they arent in love.

You could put it in another way but maybe they want to be clowns.

The guy was joking. He really does have a happy marriage but wanted to make fun of the canned responses that so many other contestants give.
OK lemme be fair here.I didnt see it and eventually i will look at it and decide if the joke was in good taste.

I think he just wanted his 30 seconds of fame and not the canned responses.

OK i just watched clip.I thought Sajak had a good response when he said thats why you are here.

Some others analyzed it saying,to actually say that maybe some truth to it.The fact even if he was joking you put Pat in uncomfy spot maybe and he handled it ok.IOW...NO need for it.

Kinda uncalled for i still think.

Even a fool is wise when they keep silent or use discernment.

That's quite funny!
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Some people are awkward and different.
As long as they can workout their differences,
they can enjoy a good life together and
     have a beautiful relationship.

You obviously didn't watch the full exchange if you are still confused if he was joking or not.

Im curious....did he make any$$$$?

I saw the whole thing.Even if he was just joking was it in good taste to put Pat in a tuff spot even tho he handled it well?

Do you humiliate someone with BO in front of a crowd or if u care for them pull them aside and be a friend?

People liked it cos its out of the norm.Yeh...so is Trump winning the presidency...you love him or hate him.Not your typical politician. So interest develops in some way.Be happy you are on the show and try to earn some $$$$.

I saw that episode of Wheel of Fortune and thought that Pat handled it very well.  Of course, the contestant was only kidding.

Everyone wins money.

It's obvious you didn't watch to full clip because Pat points out that he is facetious and the guy admits to the joke and says positive things about his wife/stepkids/grandkid.

It's not your humor, we get it. It was his wife's idea and Pat found it hilarious. No one was humiliated. Nothing to get worked up about.

I watched what YouTube presented.

Nice you have a pipeline to Pat to know how he felt.

You are right,i wouldnt call my wife <even if a joke>anything negative.I would play the loser. So congrats. You got something right. Not my kind of humor.
