My husband hates yardwork so I have a choice of doing it myself or hiring people to do it. I don't hire people because I like doing yardwork myself plus you run into the sorts of problems you are running into when you hire other people. Small companies just do not seem to have the work ethic that I grew up with anymore.

Sorry for the problems you all have had.   I guess I have been very fortunate with yard work.  I have used the same service for several years and they do excellent work.  We use to do most all of the yard work, but my husband had a knee replacement and just cannot do it all anymore.  We do all the work in our vegetable garden.

We get a guy we know to mow our grass when we can, he is reasonable and does a good job.

It is very sad. People are in it for themselves and they don't care about the "service" part anymore. So sad that we live in this type of world now.
