Decline in High School football participation
« on: October 01, 2018, 08:26:57 pm »
The city where I live does not have high school football. This year, I believe less than 15 people signed up to play.  I can understand that people do not want their kids to become seriously injured, but it is so different on a Friday night. I am used to going to football games and seeing people I have not seen in a while. I guess another sign of the times.

To many goofy parents and to many injuries  i think,  I'd not let my kids play in football if i had kids.

High school football should always be in schools. I  know people who live in small towns that their high school has football.  :peace:

I don't have kids, but when I do I don't want any part of them playing football.  But that's because I'm a baseball guy.  I wouldn't want them getting hurt playing football and it taking away from baseball.

Our town also has seen a decline in little league football. It is dangerous and the parents are too competitive

The injury factor is a serious concern.
Many decline participation because of possible injuries.
