I think teachers have enough on their plate without having to carry firearms on top of that. Who's paying the guns? The school? Teachers barely get anything for classroom supplies.
Several of my family members work in the classroom and if it were allowed, I would be more than happy to supply them with a gun to carry. I would rather save a few lives than supply them with a box of pencils that may not have students around to use them.

Need more police in the schools and no cowards like the fired deputy.

What are your thoughts about the NRA, teachers having to carry guns and the entire thing from the shooting @ MSDHS on Valentine's Day?

It was such a tragic thing. 17 lives lost and 3 students are still in the hospital recovering.

Praying for all of these families as well as all of the staff and students

They don't want just any teachers/school worker to carry guns, just those who already trained like military/national guard or those with conceal carry... Then it would be optional.  Also it would be left to the individual school district if they want to implement such a program, in individual states.   It is already being done in like 8 states.   I personally think whatever works.... they've been needing to tighten up the lax security at schools for a long time.... The florida governor had a bunch of plans to put through in the next 10 days that sounds like they would have more checks in place, with threat assessments in every school, child protection service and mental health professionals at schools, steel doors, bullet proof glass, and security with bag check upon admittance, 1 armed guard for every 1000 kids... some other stuff that I can't recall.  They've secured pretty much all venues already here in Southern California... they have bag checks at all the amusement parks before you get in, even at the movies. Secure the school then uping all the ages for guns & mental health checks.  Oh, and a state hotline & phone app for see something say something.... hopefully they will get a better response than what the FBI & police did.

Makes me so sad for all those people. That one father Andrew Pollack breaks my heart every time he talks about his daughter..... terrible.
