Safety Alert
« on: November 06, 2017, 02:08:33 pm »
Law enforcement in my community and surrounding areas have stated that if you are driving and suddenly eggs are thrown at your car, don't stop to clean it off and see who did it.  According to law enforcement, this is a new tactic that gangs and criminals are using for carjackings and anything else they want to do to you.  So please be aware if this should happen to you.  Also, remember that similar things could be used!  I can remember when they used to bump into you so you would stop and look at the damage and get driver information.  Depending on time of day, where you are, and what the other driver looks like, give that a second thought also if it should happen.  Many attempted hijackings and following women in stores lately.  Be aware of your surroundings.

Time and unforseen occurrence befalls everyone, but it makes sense to understand something that might be leading you to danger.

I would be that it is not true.  Sounds like one of the hundreds of other stories that have circulated where a good friend of a friend of a friend's daughter or whatever or who ever had this happen to them.  But if you ask for names they can't tell you.  If your best friend's daughter had this scary experience then tell me your best friend's name.  Tell me something specific.  Nobody can do that.  It is all just a hoax to scare people.  Kind of like the flashing head lights.  I NEVER heard of anything happening from that just don't do it or you will be killed.  Uh huh.  Sure.  I just don't believe this kind of stuff.  I have seen some circulating locally about a neighboring town and even my town but when you ask for details nobody has them.

I will say this though if you are in an accident and you get a police report the other driver does get a lot of information about you.  Including your name, address, birthday, DL number, and maybe more.  That is enough to ruin a person.

I have received a similar email regarding this from a friend. I was about to share it, but have forgotten about it weeks ago. Thanks for sharing/posting it at the forum.

A few weeks my daughter was getting out of her at WalMart and a big guy in a car kept yelling to her, she ignored him but he wouldn't stop. He followed her into WalMart. She called me, I told her to find an associate to walk her to her car when she left. But the guy finally stopped following her, not sure if it were her speaking to an associate or if he found someone else to target.

Usually an "associate" will not do that.  And are not allowed to.  They have security officers sometimes and they may do it.  Our Walmart would tell you to call the police or ask if you wanted them to call the police. If I were the associate and a female told me some dude was following or bothering her and ask me to walk her to her car so "she" could feel safe - I would tell her no. That would be putting me in danger as well. I probably would opt for calling the police.

I did have a similar situation in the mall once.  I had been to several stores and noticed that every where I went there were 3 hispanic males that were in the same store. One of the stores I was in the female undergarments (not somewhere 3 men should be) and they kept watching me and yapping in spanish and laughing. I went into a pet store and 2 stayed out in the hall and one came in the store. I mentioned to the cashier that they had been EVERY WHERE I had been for a couple of hours so she called security - even tho I protested haha.  They came and talked to me and he finally talked me in to letting him walk me to my car.  Okay first, when he showed up they split. But get this when we get outside guess who is in the parking lot close to my car?  I told the security officer I didn't need him to walk out with me and I would be fine.  When we got outside and they saw him they left quickly.  He told me he would rather me be safe than any thing and did not care at all to walk out with me or anyone if there was any feelings of danger at all.

We live in a scary world and it is hard to feel completely safe.  That's why I like it at home. haha

I also will say a lot of these stories like the notes on the window or throwing stuff or whatever is just scare tactics.  I have never heard of a real confirm-able story of it happening.  But it is good to be on your guard any way.

I've heard of this going around and we all do not know if it's true or not, always best to take precaution measures regardless. Knowing me, i'd open a window and throw something back at them! lol ... Oh, I'll keep driving alright! Right over them..lol. Oops, self defense Officer! :)

Thanks for the heads up but it is so sad what is going on in this world. You can't go anywhere or drive in piece anymore. It is so sad the way people have to live now.

Wow, thanks for sharing the info.  My area is pretty safe but I've been hearing about increase gang activity in areas like 40min away from me so it's getting a bit scary.
