Wow, they're removing them completely??  I've seen signs on the meter machines here saying you can pay online, using your phone, but I've never tried.  I have a smartphone but I'm kinda wary about putting my credit card info in there...

How does it work though, do the meter checkers scan your license plate to see if you've paid?

They are removing them from a section of the city but you still have to pay to park. How? You have to download an app for your smart phone and pay by credit or debit card!!!!!

How crazy is that? A $0.50 cent parking fee and you need to use your credit or debit card. To be charged interest on the credit card and a fee for using a debit card (is there such a thing?)

What about the people that don't have a smart phone? What do they do?

Well that is stupid.  Not every one has a smart phone.  And not every one has apps and pays with their smart phone.  And you won't be charged interest if you pay your balance when your bill comes.  You don't have to use a credit card.  As for what people who don't have this ability will do???  I assume park some where else.

They will eventually figure out it doesn't work.  Where I live there are no fees for parking any where and we have never had parking meters.

You don't need a smart phone, it's just another way people can pay. The new kiosks, which I'm assuming are the same as other cities I've seen, still accept coins and credit/debit card. Just modernizing the technology because people don't carry coins.
