I keep small one in purse fin case I need it for shopping (like we bought a new sofa last month) and have a few in the house

I always have a tiny one close by because I use it all the time to measure my knitting and crocheting items. It's in my handicrafts bag that I bring with me whenever I am getting together with friends just to chat or travelling on a train or bus to have something to do with my hands.

I have a few tape measures.  I always carry a small one in my purse.  I never know when I may need it to measure something.

Harbor Freight seems to offer free a free tape measure with purchase practically every week... they are pretty good quality too
