ANY ADVICE ON POTTY TRAINING A BOY?

I AM TRYING TO POTTY TRAIN MY BOY.  FRIENDS TOLD ME THAT MY SON HAS TO START SITTING DOWN PEEING BUT HE PREFERS STANDING UP WHICH IS FINE.  I JUST NEED SOME ADVICE TO GET HIM OUT OF DIAPERS AND START POTTY TRAINING HIM.  ANYBODY??

What i did with my lil brother was get a lil bell and some stickers of his fave cars, cuz he loved cars and each time he went in the toilet, cleaned up his mess, and washed his hands, i had him ring his bell and i would say " yay good job buddy" and let him pick out a sticker, he'd always have a big smile on his face and felt good about himself, after a few months it worked.
