Does anyone have a pet bird? I am think about getting one and I was just wondering how do you feel about your bird? is there anything difficult about having a pet bird and would you recommend it as a pet?

Oh I had the coolest  Congo African Grey Parrot for 24 years and I loved ever thing about that bird I got her from a breeder as a baby and she was the coolest bird there was... what kind are you thinking about ?  My bird got cancer it was a very odd case and she's written up at UC  Davis on a study.   Her name was Cracker  and I at the time had a Dog Named Polly ! Hence Polly wants a Cracker!  She learned to talk and also learned every sound in my house.  So some nights while laying in bed I heard the door open and it was the bird. I lived by train tracks and yes she learned the train horn noise but muffled because it wasn't that close. She was really allot of fun and I'd do it all again.

My friend had a pet bird. Really pretty but so loud & pooped constantly. It was a smaller blue & white bird. I love watching birds outside my window & at the park but I could not own a pet bird.

I think birds are that kind of pet where I'd much rather visit someone else's than pay/care for my own. Theyre pretty and cool, just seems like lots of upkeep.

I used to have two parakeets. Birds are wonderful animals but they require so much work. Most people don't realize just how difficult they can be. They require so much attention, especially parrots.
