Corn Maze
« on: October 01, 2016, 08:49:56 am »
Last night I had the adventure of going through my first corn maze.  It was a lot of fun!  The corn field had paths cut through it with many trails, dead ends, round abouts to lead you to the Check Points hidden throughout.  The central design of this maze is a mother cow and her calf beside a barn and silo.  Every year, they depict a different scene.

We were done before dark, but others like to go at dark....Would you?

I would not go at night. Too many unknown bugs out there.  At least in the daylight you can see them, so you can run away screaming.

I've never been to one even though there is one that's not two miles from my house called Aw Shucks.  They have it every fall but just never seems to be enough time to get there to try it out.

There are many farms nearby and many would have corn mazes. My son used to love them when he was little,

We were looking for a pumpkin patch to get some to carve, and found this place fairly close to where I live. It was surprising that I hadn't heard of it before, however, because they really had a great place for family fall activities: pumpkin patch, hay-rides, and a huge corn-maze. Every year they change their corn maze theme, and some of the pictures from previous years are quite impressive. I've been to other corn mazes in the past, but usually they are fairly simple to navigate, and you can easily finish in less than an hour. However the mazes at this new place are very elaborate; they mention to allow over an hour just in walking the correct path alone!

I have always had a fear of mazes! It probably stems from when I was a young child. My mother paid for my twin sister and I to go in a mirror and glass maze at the fair. We went in, I behind my sister, but she disappeared off quite quickly and I couldn't find her. Eventually I saw what I thought was my sister so I ran to her, and bumped into a mirror which had a reflection of myself and therefore wasn't my sister at all. When all I kept seeing was reflections of myself, I got upset so my mom had to come in and rescue me.
