When I went to vote this afternoon there were more poll workers than voters. I guess a lot of people voted here early or were either voting this morning or closer to the end of the day.

I voted via mail in ballot and I don't remember ever feeling as passionate and grateful for the opportunity to cast my vote.

I've always been neutral and slightly indifferent when it's time to vote; however, I really want everything to be okay with this country.

Have a great day!

a number of my neighbors said that they didn't want to have the TV on today.

I always think that this is one of the most exciting days to have the TV on.  I know that your neighbors are likely referring to the non-stop last minute political ads, but later this evening as the returns are coming in and as the congressional and senate races are being called, I will be GLUED to the television.

Me too!   Tonight is much better than the past couple of months.  Like you, I"m looking forward to hearing the congressional and senate races.   Already have it on but as the time ticks away to the first closures I get more excited.  Getting a pizza and will be glued all night.  Pizza and leftover Halloween candy.    ;D

I voted early as i  worked at my  volunteer job and didn't want to have to go stand in line this afternoon. Afraid they would cose before i got to vote In some areas across the nation  the polls closed before every one got to vote and i think that is wrong, If the voters have been standing line to vote they should get to vote. Democrats vote early and Republicans  don't always  get to vote early as they have to work.

I voted today and didn't have to wait in line. Election volunteers said that voter turn-out was very high.  I went out on a limb, and wore a political button and no one hit me with a baseball bat.  Always grateful the small things in life.

This post made me LOL so hard!

Polls opened here at 7:00, I was done voting by 7:15.  When I left there was quite a long line waiting.

Glad it's over, but we'll still hear more  :bs:  talk from both parties in the coming weeks.

I worked as an election official at a polling location yesterday in a major metropolitan area.  We have all worked together before so we were set up and ready to go about an hour before the polls officially opened.  We had a small line but you cannot allow anyone to vote before the stated official time of 7:00am.

Voters kept us very busy most of the day, especially the afternoon "rush-hour" traffic period right up to the poll closing time.  If you're in line by 7:00pm you will still get to vote.

Typically when voting in the General Election (Presidential) many voters realize they haven't registered in time to vote on election day or they may have recently moved into the precinct but their listing in the poll book isn't updated to reflect that so it is necessary to send them back to their old precinct to cast their ballot.  Nevertheless, we work diligently to redirect them.  Thus, it really is advantageous to consider Early Voting because for a period of 12 days you can go to any polling location within your county to vote.
