My household is not filled with as many people but I do find it difficult many times to relax. It seems like I'm always dealing with something unpleasant and there is never a shortage of errands or chores to do. I haven't been on a real vacation in years, the money I earn is hard to come by and is spent almost before I take it out of the bank! No wonder I have high blood pressure and battle depression.

relaxing is very important for good health but sometimes difficult to do when you are having problems

I normally try to plan some "ME" time.  When I'm at that point of "ME" time I relax and don't allow any outside interruptions.  But it does help that I don't have any children, only my husband and I.  This definitely makes a difference.   :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose:

Relaxing is so very important. You would want to train your brain how to do it. Find what works for you! I just lie still and slow down my thoughts.I also take deep breaths about 5.
This causes you to forget what you,re thinking and relaxes you.

It seems like i rarely get to really relax. once i lay down i think of several things that i need to do, so i am up doing them. Hubby can sleep any time. Unless i make a lot of noise. Bust since he has prostate cancer i most of the time  am quite. Bt their are times i want something done and then i  am not so quite.  He is doing ok . it is a very slow growing kind.

It gets harder and harder to get down time, no matter what age you are.  Try to look for the silver lining.  If you didn't have all those demands on your attention, you might wish they were back in your life.  I know, easier said than done, but it's something to think about.

I hear you! I have a policy whereby I will work my butt off during the day, I went to the grocery store, I walked the dog, I made dinner for my family so that when they came home from work and school, all I had to do was pop it in the oven, I ironed my husbands work shirts, I went to the grocery store a second time (to get the work coffee my husband apparently has to have for work tomorrow), I washed the dishes, I did two loads of laundry, I disinfected the bathroom sinks... and yet when I sit down in the chair this evening to take 5 minutes for myself, I will still feel guilty!
