Pitch in BBQ

Do you ever have or go to a BBQ  where everyone brings something? I like these kinds of parties because you get all bases covered and you have so much food to choose from.

Yes, we do this all the time when we have family get togethers. We all bring food with us and have so much to chose from. It's great because my brother in law should be a chef, he is an amazing cook, so he usually does all the meats and everyone else brings the side dishes.

We do a type of potluck type BBQ for our annual family picnic.
The main dish is ordered (we've had pulled pork and this year we had "walking" tacos) so no one is cooking when we get together.

Each family brings something...side dish and/or dessert to share. 

We always have plenty to eat plus leftovers enough for the evening meal for anyone still there.

Yes, we do that whenever we have any type of meal.  The person 'hosting' the party will make the main dish, and everyone brings things.  That way you get to try new dishes and the host doesn't have to do everything.
