Who uses this? Do you find it worthwhile?

I have not used it yet however there are several people who work with me who travel a lot and they swear by it. You can go through the security lines leaving your shoes on and laptops etc in the bag. I was flying on Friday and I got pulled out of line because the toothpaste I had in my carry on was too big (by 3 Oz.)

Passengers who want to enroll pay an $85 application fee. If they are approved, they are enrolled for five years.

I have minimized travel precisely because of the privacy invasion that our airports place on all passengers. Because of my minimized travel it is not worth eighty five dollars to register. I think that there is an intrusive questionnaire that goes with that eighty five dollar fee and I think that our privacy has been trampled on enough. Many people will most likely point out that, in their minds, it is worth it knowing that they are safe.  Really?  If someone is motivated enough they can make anything out of explosives and conduct their acts of terrorism. I also find that the airlines are getting absolutely crazy with side fees. A charge for a carry on? A charge for an additional suit case? Charging for soft drinks? It has gotten way out of hand. My goal is to only travel on airplanes twice a year.

I don't think it is intrusive to make sure the passengers do not have bombs, guns, or other things that can be used to hijack a plane.  I don't fly so it doesn't effect me one way or the other.
