I do my own taxes but I use TurboTax. TurboTax Deluxe, which covers both the Federal and the State returns, only costs about $40 to buy, and I am sure it is just as easy as doing them online, so why don't you use TurboTax to save a few bucks?

I volunteer with VITA, and we help do taxes for free. I personally use it myself as well.

Knowledge is KEY and staying updated on all the annual tax laws. You may hate me for saying this BUT ... I work for H&R Block and I have met many people that have did their own taxes by themselves or with other tax software that have made major errors. That is where I come in and save the day "da da daaaaaa!" lol ... I will check for you the last 3 years of tax returns and will stamp my guaranteed approval if they are correct and if they are not then YOU will now become my client and I will amend that return for you... :)

The fees are usually based off the complexity, forms and value of service you are receiving. I want my clients to feel secure knowing that I did the job for them 100% accurately and I am only human and if I did not then we guarantee to make any corrections and we pay for the errors.

So YES, I do my own taxes, my family, my friends, neighbors and people out of the state because they trust in me and know I will get them the maximum refund they are entitle to. My out of state clients do approve online. All they do is email me their info and I work on it at the office. I don't efile until they are satisfied and pay the fees online as well.

Hope everyone gets the BIGGEST refund they deserve this tax season! Have a good season people! :)

I use the free Turbo Tax edition on the computer. I don't think I get charged. This was the first year I was able to do so because apparently the IRS has my birthday as the wrong month!
