That sounds absolutely wonderful. I had three weeks with my kids over the Holidays and it was way too chaotic. We had made plans like dinner at a nice restaurant two nights before we were going on a trip. My sixteen year old son, who sees his girlfriend seven days a week, felt compelled to throw out attitude during the entire meal and rushed out to be with his girlfriend. My eighteen year old daughter (home from college) needed to get out with her friends and was criticizing us for our interaction with our son. This happened on two other occasions and I finally cancelled plans with them. I opted to send a text to the family letting them know where my wife and I would be, at a certain time, and that they were welcome to join us.  Brought us much closer together.

I love an enjoyable day at home. It seems the days when there is no reason to leave the house are few and far between. I look forward and appreciate them much more these days.
