Mortality Reminder
« on: January 04, 2016, 08:31:20 am »
I was just contacted by my high school graduating class that a 50th reunion is being planned.  I can't believe that it will be 50 years since I graduated.  I can remember when I thought that there would be maybe 10 "old fogies" left for such a get together and why would they bother.  Doesn't life  change your mind and view of things.
However, the real reminder of the fragility of being human is that 25 people are deceased out of my original graduating class.  This is out of the number of people that has been locatedso far.  My grad class had a total of 210 people.  Two of the people that are deceased were good friends at points in my life.  It has really taken me aback as I have thought of these people and  how we all were in high school at that youthful, innocent age where we all thought we would go on forever...invulnerable.  LOL!

Yes, I agree.  It is amazing how quickly time passes us by and how often we don't realize that we are not immortal.

Time flies when you are busy with a family and living.  At the age of 18, you ever imagine that the years simply flies by.

Is peter pan invited lol, sorry that was a joke-poke, then he sings about being young like spring has sprung. Agree, time can fly by or do the creepycrawl. Have a good time.

A few years ago on my birthday was reading the obits a nd seen a boy i went to high school with died of cancer. was shocked. Also another boy who i thought was so cute was on Tv news about something and he looked so old  like 56 well the same age as me. I'm sure i would look old to him to so thats about that.

Live every day of your life to the fullest. Every single day counts. For some life is short...while for others life seems to go forever. Do not be pessimistic. We all believe in some kind of immortality.

I got my diploma when I was an adult, so in no time soon I will be getting a invitation to attend my graduation class. I do understand what you mean. How in the world do they find these persons that graduated with you. Some have change names and move.  ???

Yeah I agree with you.  I don't know if I want to go to my five year high school reunion it seems too close to when we graduated.
