Christmas season
« on: December 18, 2015, 10:54:24 pm »
What is suppose to be a happy season can sometimes  be very difficult for some people.  I try to remain focused on the fact that this season is about a love that is hard to understand.  A love that God had for us all by sending his Son, Jesus.  When I make myself stop fretting, I stop stressing and I relax.  What do you do to refocus and stop stressing.

Just focus on my family and not buying so much and spending money I some times don't have. I think this year I stressed less and I have been out of work for 3 months. God and family will get you thru anything! :)

Our family decided to draw names this year to help out with everyone's budgets to help alleviate the financial stress.
I have been spending more time in devotions and a friend and I have started going on Prayer Walks.  We get together to walk (indoors since the weather has changed) and we chat a bit, then spend the rest of the walk time praying aloud.  We take turns so much to pray for!

you are so right about the season --i too try to stay focused on the real meaning of the season but it can be very hard when some people are rude or unthankful for the things they have and only focus on the things they dont have --i am very blessed and thank the good Lord every day for my family , friends, my house, and car and so much more

I find I am spending more time doing for others without buying gifts, like helping at the church with Christmas boxes. Meals for those who can't afford it. I is so rewarding doing for others.  We helped serve at the Church for Thanks giving also. Fed 208 people which is a lot for a small town.
Now that both of my boys have passed Christmas is not the same. Grandson is all grown up and gone his wayIt is just hubby and I here at home  we go out to my brothers  he has a big family and visit for awhile then come home.

I was recently involved in an automobile accident. I lost my vehicle of 15 years...but recently purchased another. I try not to think about it all, but difficult to do so, especially with a new car note.

You never know what someone is going through either. I was in waffle house and thought a young man was homeless and without means. In a way he was, he was looking for a ride to his family for the holidays but had money. I had offered to buy his meal and he showed me a wad of cash and said he didnt need it but said that the waitress might. I checked with her and sure enough she had just started the job, hadnt been paid and was in a bad way, so i bought her a meal instead.

I remember a very long time ago, a friend of mine died on Christmas Eve. This was about 25 years ago but even now, I still feel a little sad around the holidays remembering all those we have lost throughout the year. I love being with my family over Christmas, giving gifts and eating holiday turkey until I am stuffed at the seams, but there is always a little something in my mind which makes me sad.

I'm going to church tomorrow and Christmas Eve, then making dinner for Christmas day, just my kids will be over and we don't exchange gifts, we go around the table saying why we talk God for this day.
