What If Your Hotel Bill Is More than Expected?
« on: December 01, 2015, 07:49:43 am »
It seems that the state of Illinois has tried to sue a few former prisoners who came into some $ after their release.  Evidently, some prisoners thought this was a nice "howdy do" and the state's Attorney General said, "Yeah, maybe so!"  So what do you think?  Should former prisoners who get $ have to pay some of it to offset the costs of imprisonment?

I'm really confused, what does this have to do with "higher than expected hotel bills"? ???

If they did their time whatever happens after the were in jail is on them.  If they come into money from an inheritance or lotto winnings or whatever should be all theirs to do what they want.  They shouldn't have to pay for their incarceration with that money.  They certainly shouldn't have to pay if they got the money because of false imprisonment if they were found innocent and the state paid them because of that.
