November 29, National Square Dance Day!

It was mandatory to take Square Dance in high school. After you learned the moves and calls, I enjoyed it and now I miss it. Wow yahoo, I want the square dance clothes. I decided to do this again. Do you square dance? Do you or know anyone that has the clothes? Not bad exercise. There are conventions to attend. There are square dance clubs. Have a gr8 day

Oh I remember that!! How fun. It was just becoming "un-cool" when I took it.

I would go to adult square-dances then, to have fun.

The older men were so polite, and the ladies were nice.

Cowboy movies and tv shows were plentiful then. Loved the cowboy hats.

Wow, something I haven't heard of in years! It was mandatory for my school to do this too, wonder why? I'm sure there are people somewhere who still do this, somewhere far away....

I am not sure why they mandated it. I just loved it, but it quickly became "old-fashioned" and silly....not cool.

It was great exercise, people smiled a lot, and there wasn't "slow-dancing" to parent's relief, I am sure.
