Why do stores put up christmas decorations so fast?

It's because people like me start xmas shopping early.

While I do think it could wait till after Halloween, I did notice this year that some Christmas stuff that goes up in October is discounted so if you're an early bird then that's a win for you. Being born around Thanksgiving I always felt that that holiday was over looked and that people should wait till Black Friday to start to decorate for Christmas or get decorations, but as I've gotten older, there is value in not waiting till the last minute. Still think Thanksgiving should be celebrated though and the big Christmas push should be around then. #conflictedbutloveit

It's all about the Almighty Dollar!  The Christmas season is the biggest shopping/spending season of the year and retail wants to try to assure that it gets all it can get.  It's about temptation! Get you in the mood early and maybe you will spend, spend, spend!

The stores start with the Christmas celebration in early July and it's all about Greed and the demand from their customers.   A few of the Holidays are totally ignored because of instant gratification.

So giving your customers what they want is greedy? Interesting.

It can be annoying but they do it because people like to do things early and they can make more money that way. But usually waiting till after the holiday is over you can score great deals for next year.

Stores are all about profit so it makes sense to me that they make the most of the holidays, financially.

Also, there are individuals who like to shop before everything gets "picked" over. Some people don't procrastinate.

Most stores make their most money during the Christmas season, so I guess they want to get everybody in the Christmas mood as soon as they can during the year so they will sell more. I agree with you that it is too early to start putting up Xmas decorations in early November but I guess they feel they have to do it to get business.

Vaguely remember Christmas decorating being a long planned process. I can't imagine some light displays being made a couple days before, let alone even a week.

I have been saying forever that the retail industry is just GREEDY and that's why they RUSH everyone into Christmas!!!!  I remember years ago when none of this happened until AFTER Thanksgiving!!!

I beleive because its a part of the business and the quicker you have it up the quicker the chores go away and can get laid back for the holiday rush
