She said everything was free paid by the government.I looked a little into it online and might be a problem if we have a bad roof.i don't know how old the roof is.They can save you money i know but some say its not that much.Hate it when i get myself into these things .

Did like 3 research papers about solar panels in my college course. If you need a research topic, solar panels are the easiest.

Anywho... Solar panels do get covered by the government and energy companies to some degree, but not fully (maybe like 40-60%). Reason why solar panels are not viable to some people because 1.) The initial cost of installation and 2.) Efficiency regarding how much sunlight hits your roof. Also the more efficient solar panels are CPV (Concentrated photovoltaics) how they require a concentrated lens and a axis to move towards the sun. In residential solar panels they must be fixed and flat (not sure home owners want to have a big curved satellite type dish in their roofs).

There is good things about solar panel regarding non polluting energy (if your solar panel can match your household electrical consumption) and also Net metering. Net metering is financial type thing, that basically have your energy company cut your electric bill or if you live in a place with a lot of sunshine they pay you some money for all the energy you sent them. It might take several years for the solar panel to pay themselves off.
