I think it is poking fun at the Clerk who won't issue marriage licenses,  it is exactly the same thing.  It really show the ridicules nature of it. If it offends your religion work some where else, don't force your religion on others.

I believe that everyone should have the right to believe in whatever it is they want to, but when you are hired to do a job, you do that job. If it conflicts with your personal, moral, religious, or other views, then quit the job and go work for a company that shares your views.

Bravo! Quite poignant given today's headlines. Seems like everyone is flaking out these days. I have to triple think every word that I say.  The day time job has started scheduling one hour every month to encourage creativity. They are wondering why creativity is down and the company is beginning to stagnate.  My night time job shut down production for two days so that everyone could get their harassment/trade mark training done. If people didn't pass their test they were not allowed to work until they did.  These are people that have no interaction with the public...seriously.  The first company is doing fine but imagination is stifled by today's political correctness. I worry a little about the night time gig because they do not take profit into consideration ( I have three other companies that I can contract for so I am not that worried)>

It's understandable, in the workplace you're hired to fulfill a certain requirement. But there are businesses that
are/were based off religious beliefs/principles.
Example: I don't eat pork and I have a few restaurants that I purchase from doesn't sell it.
I'm comfortable purchasing there but I wouldn't be if they were suddenly forced to do otherwise.

That's stupid. Walmart puts other stores in its neighborhoods out of business.

No they don't.  I am thankful to have a Walmart.  The mom and pop shops charge too much.  I for one cannot afford to give $3 more for something so some dinky little store can stay open.  I am going to shop where I can buy it the cheapest.

Actually religion doesn't mix well with anything.  Neither does having your own opinion.  If you people tend to get mad when someone disagrees with them.

 

I understand people religion when it comes to certain things, but if you are paid to do a job you must do it.  I work for local government and we are not allow to read our bible or have bibles on our desk and I understand, so if you cannot sell or do a certain thing on your job than you should not take that job.

That's fine as long as it applies the same to ALL religious materials.  Besides that how much time are you going to have to be sitting reading your Bible at your desk?  You can always have it on your phone.

You cannot conduct yourself as God wants you to act and also as your boss wants you to act.  Unless your boss believes the same way you do.

I don't really think it is poking fun at any religions.  It is just making a point.  There are many religions and different things people believe and pretty much everything you want to purchase there is going to be somebody that thinks you should not use it, do it, buy it, or eat it or drink it or whatever.

I don't care if you have to deal with the public or not.  The sensitivity training and all that crap is just that - crap.  If you are too sensitive to be in public and hear people speak without being offended or you can't see two people within a mile of you talking and laughing without thinking they are talking about you - then you need to stay at home.  Maybe take some "deal with it" classes.  I deal directly with customers.  I say what I think and I do not care if they are offended.
I don't put people down or anything like that either.  But I don't hide who I am or what I believe to please some idiot.

If you follow what Jesus said and put the other person before yourself without breaking any of the bibles laws you are 100% correct.

Most employers and employees would love to have an honest and caring person among them.

But at the same time if the work is going to compromise Gods laws one should not take the job.EX...someone working in a cigarette environment...is the money more important to them then their conscience that these things are killing people?
