had to pull tough love on my daughter when she was a young adult it took her many years to understand and to finally get our relationship in a better place
would i do it again ...yes..... because she needed it
i have to admit that it was the hardest thing i had to do,and i felt bad about it for a very long time

i do sometimes it is the only thing that will get through to that person.  i know when i was growing up my brother had a lot of issues and had to be removed from the home for my safety, it was really hard on my mother but she had to do what was best not only for me but for her other children.

Yes after many years of trying to let them learn their leason, sometimes letting them sit in a jail cell will save their lives.

Do you believe in tuff love towards your loved ones in some circumstances?  For instance, if your child was breaking the law, not listening to you, and either directly or indirectly hurting themself or others, could you turn this child in to the police and perhaps have them spend time in jail?  Myself, I definitely could do it...depending on the situation.  Sometimes, no matter who or what, you have to pay the piper!!!
Yes. Children don't need to get everything they desire. No means accepting what you cannot have. Not throwing a fit until you get it. Sparing the rod has pronounced those reactions. Parents don't have the control they had when I grew up. Respect for authority because  the consequences for no respect are not pleasant. BMaston12
