I think that  we are a generation of do it yourselfers! Youtube videos help us get most of the things done that would cost a fortune to contract out. In today's economy it makes sense to at least try and do something yourself (if you have time to do it). I can do just about anything if I have enough time.  The hard part is finding the time because bringing a lot of money in is more important than spending a lot of time for something that can be done cheaper by hiring out the labor.  I always have to size up the job and figure out how long it will take, if I have free time and what a handy man would cost to do it (and probably much better).

I have a friend who built his own computer.  He is computer savy, but went on the internet and learned what he didn't know and said it was easy to build.  Not anything I would or could ever try.

I admire that, and sometimes wish I had those skills...it seems people who DIY and/or are handy are becoming rarer ...

Building a PC is a lot cheaper than buying a prebuilt one... If ur interesting in building a comp, disassemble your old unused computer and rebuild it.. If it boots up, u have some experience on putting together a PC... Remember once u build a pc, all u have to do is upgrade the parts... never buy a new comp
