New Year's Day came on a Thursday this year.
I noticed two of the employees in our building took advantage of that and took the Friday off work as well.

I am sure many did.Makes for a long week-end.

I had a job once where we got our birthday off with pay.My birthday is Sept 2nd always around labor Day.I would always take the Fri off right before Labor Day and use that day as my birthday.....then you would get week-end and Labor Day is always on a Mon.4 days off in a row.............yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

yuppp...many people do. unless they dont have any paid vacation to take. like for me, I try to take off mid to end of dec to jan.
