shaking hands
« on: May 03, 2014, 03:52:58 pm »
Would you shake someone's hand if you witnessed this individual did not wash his/her hands after using the restroom? I would simply say to this person " good morning or good night". No hand shake!

I don't think I would flat out refuse to shake hands with them, however I would excuse myself for not partaking and explain that I had been unwell recently and wouldn't want to put anyone else at risk. I would hope that that would start them thinking about the protocols of hand washing and cleanliness.

I guess it depends on where I was and whether I had quick, easy access to a bathroom to wash my own hands right away....

I know someone who refuses to shake hands with people during flu season.

I wouldn't refuse to shake hands; however, I really like my anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.
Have a great day!

Probably not I'd just wash my hands afterwards.

Just use hand sanitizer... In a lot of cultures, it shows great respect.

First off...how would you know?  Just doesn't seem like a very realistic question to me.  But I will play...if they go to shake my hand, I will shake their hand.

If I saw they didn't wash their hands I wouldn't shake their hand, oh what they are going to get mad at me?  Better for them to be mad at me than me mad at them for getting me sick.  FYI Donald Trump avoids shaking hands and he is a well traveled businessman  8)
