The Masters
« on: April 08, 2014, 06:42:56 am »
So I grew up in the Augusta, GA area, but now live in the ATL area, and the week of Masters there is so much traffic it actually rivals ATL. The old house I grew up in was about three miles or so from the course and we learned very quickly if you had to hit the main road where the course is you better be on the side you needed to be even if you had to go several miles out of your way to get there because you would never be able to make the left turns into the shopping centers. Watching the news last night I saw that the first practice rounds were washed out because of rain.
I remember working the concession stand one year and watching all of these people walk by me in some of the strangest pants. There was even a man who had giraffes on his pants. I'm sorry but golf is just not one of the sports I even understand. And like I said I grew up right there from the time I 5 till 23.
My mom and dad would like us to come home for the weekend and see them but I don't think we will. I mean yeah they are no longer in the house I grew up in and live on the other side of town but it is still off of Washington road.

I usually watch a lot of the Masters Golf, but without Tiger Woods playing in it this year I lost most of my interest, so I have barely watched any

I haven't been able to watch any of the Masters this year, but might try to catch it later if possible....golf is definitely more interesting in person than on tv, because you can walk around see the different players, maybe get a souvenier, etc....I went to my first golf tournament two summers ago, it was interesting and a fun experience

Well we ended up going home to see my parents after all because my oldest daughter had an appointment to visit one of the colleges. At least it was scheduled for a time when most of the traffic was already at the course. But going out to dinner on Friday night was bad when we were leaving the restaurant. Got in and got a table just fine but we had to navigate around a bunch of people when we went to leave and my mom was in a wheelchair.

Congrats to Bubba Watson winning the Masters. If my memory served me correct he was 25-1 to win this.I wish i woulda at least put $5 on him.I really felt he had a chance. This guy can win any tourney any time hes that type of player.

Bubba Watson is from my area so I'm sure I'll be see a crazy amount of media coverage about it for awhile in my future
