My 6 month old sleeps with us so at night it's pretty easy to get him to sleep. A breastfed, cosleeping baby doesn't take anything more than just laying down with the lights off, popping the boob in his mouth, and we're both to sleep in minutes. Naptime is different though... he likes DragonForce REAALLLLYYY loud and he has to be rocked and have his butt patted hahaha... oh the joys of Attachment Parenting ;p

Skip this poster if you don't want to see cuteness-overload baby pictures and massive braggage!

Around 8pm every night i just lay my little guy in his crib and he falls asleep within 5 mins. Same with his afternoon nap. I get the hint that he is tired, when he starts sucking his thumb....then i lay him down.

A sippy cup of warm milk makes my toddler sleepy. She also has this seahorse which lights up and plays soothing music -- that helps her fall asleep too.  :)

My son just needs his pacifier (which we call a plug... weird, I know) and his blankie.  He's always been very good at going to sleep on his own.  And the car never fails either... he'll sleep a whole trip sometimes!

PS.  The slipknot thing is funny!  I would have never thought, but I agree, it could be that you went to the concerts.

have you tried burning essential oils? Lavender works great and it makes the house smell awesome

My kids go to sleep watching a movie. When they are sick I sing Janis Joplin Mercedes Benz to them that always does it. I used to sing that song to my belly when I was pregnant with them.  Isn't it so sweet how little things like that make them feel better but it also makes me feel better to!!

The only thing that puts my son to sleep is having his fluffy stuffed Tigger.
